Dr. Deigni was born and raised in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to an Ivorian father who came from a fishing village and an American mother who grew up on a farm in West Bend, Wisconsin, before she traveled to West Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer. Throughout his childhood his parents encouraged him to pursue knowledge and excellence in all of his endeavors. In addition, they instilled core values, including the value of service, respect, humility, and compassion.
Dr. Deigni started in aerospace engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and was one of the top candidates selected for a distinguished Cooperative Education position working at NASA Johnson Space Center. One of his major projects at NASA involved the design of a lifeboat for astronauts to return to Earth automatically with self-guidance and Dr. Deigni was in charge of the thermodynamics of the re-entry vehicle. While enrolled in his PhD program in aerospace engineering, he realized that he wanted to devote his time and energy to helping people at an individual and personal level and chose to pursue a career in medicine.
Dr. Deigni attended the Emory University of Medicine in Atlanta. Being an avid learner, he also studied Epidemiology at the Rollins School of Public Health and graduated with a dual degree MD/MPH. He subsequently enrolled in a highly competitive six-year plastic surgery program at St. Louis University. After completing his residency training, Dr. Deigni decided to pursue two subspecialties, which is a distinction that few plastic surgeons can claim. He moved to Houston, TX where he dedicated a full year at MD Anderson Cancer Center as a Clinical Specialist and a microvascular surgery fellow. This fellowship is one of the most sought out fellowships in the world for microvascular reconstructive plastic surgery. Dr. Deigni specialized in the reconstruction of cancer defects including complex reconstruction of the face, jaw, scalp, breasts, esophagus, abdominal wall, vagina, penis, and perineum. Such surgeries involved advanced techniques using microsurgery. Dr. Deigni then spent a full year at the Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery (ACPS), which is one of the nation’s top aesthetic plastic surgery groups. This fellowship was one of only 15 fellowships endorsed by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). In addition to working with and learning from six different surgeons, Dr. Deigni also directed his own clinic when he took care of his aesthetic patients with a number of surgeries including breast augmentation, Brazilian butt lift, Drainless Tummy Tuck, mommy makeover, facelift, rhinoplasty, body contouring, liposuction, and corrective ear surgery.
The field of aesthetic plastic surgery is continuously evolving and Dr. Deigni has a passion for clinical research and enhancing his capabilities in the latest techniques for cutting edge advancement. As part of his commitment to being a member of the community of the best plastic surgeons in Houston that push the field’s envelope and seize opportunities to achieve great advances and discoveries, Dr. Deigni strives for excellence in all of his endeavors. Dr. Deigni and his staff are dedicated to helping you achieve your personal aesthetic goals and desires, as well as providing you with the best surgical experience.
