Dr. Deigni was born and raised in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to an Ivorian father who came from a fishing village and an American mother who grew up on a farm in West Bend, Wisconsin, before she traveled to West Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer. Throughout his childhood, his parents encouraged him to pursue knowledge and excellence in all of his endeavors. In addition, they instilled core values, including the value of service, respect, humility, and compassion.
Dr. Deigni started in aerospace engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and was one of the top candidates selected for a distinguished Cooperative Education position working at NASA Johnson Space Center. One of his major projects at NASA involved the design of a lifeboat for astronauts to return to Earth automatically with self-guidance and Dr. Deigni was in charge of the thermodynamics of the re-entry vehicle. While enrolled in his Ph.D. program in aerospace engineering, he realized that he wanted to devote his time and energy to helping people at an individual and personal level and chose to pursue a career in medicine.
The ultimate dream in life is to love what you do and learn from it every day. As a patient coordinator, that’s exactly what I get to do: I get to live my passion every day. I simply love to be a part of a patient’s journey in helping them look and feel their very best.
I have learned that every patient is different in so many ways. We dig deep to customize a plan that is individualized to the patient’s desire in order to get them to their final outcome. I’ve found that clear communication is key, listening to what each patient wants as an outcome and ensuring that it happens.
It can be overwhelming going into a plastic surgery consultation, and I know this from personal experience. I want my patients to know that I am here to guide them and answer any questions, no matter how big or small. After having worked many years as a patient coordinator, there is not much that I haven’t been asked. I’m here to ensure our patients are well prepared and feel comfortable with the whole process. I look forward to walking through this journey with each and every one of you.
